AD NETWORKS:

Ad networks are places where you can buy impressions based on targeting features like by geography or category and the network will run your ad across multiple sites in these areas. Some will charge minimums to use their service, whereas others will give you bargain prices you would not get elsewhere. (At Ad Store for example you can buy spaces at sites like Excite.com which usually ask for $2,500 or so minimum purchases.)

Her Agency.com - an ad network that offers over 300 female-oriented web sites to place your banner. Prices from $250 for 8,400 ad impressions to $3,000 for 300,000 banner impressions across the run of the site of 25-30 select premium female-oriented web sites. ($4,500 for targeted categories like business and fashion.)

Ad-Venture offers targeted advertising to channels by specific sites, household income, geography, time of day, user click behavior, content channels, age, gender, and education levels. For example, the ecommerce channel offers banners for $10 per 1,000 impressions across their ecommerce network. 212-684-4800

24/7 offers a network that includes categories like business and finance, health, news, entertainment, sport, lifestyle, women's interests and more. Each category offers 100s of web sites such as AT&T, Earth Link, Ebay, Amazon, MSN, Intel, Alta Vista Shopping, Scientific American, CBS Sportsline, AMerican Express, Ameritrade, British Airways, Citibank, Ford Motor, General Mills, Hallmark, Hertz, Hotjobs, IBM, Sprint, Toyata, and Verizon.

Ad Store is a great site for small companies. It gives you the opportunity to advertise on sites like Excite and MSN for as little as $250. (normally search engines require a minimum of around $2,500 - $3,000 just to use.) They offer categories in Computer & Internet, Sports, Shopping & Ecommerce, Autos, Games, News, International, Money, Travel, Entertainment, and more.

Value Click They offer a variety of packages like cost per click packages (you only pay for valid click throughs at an average of .60 cents per click), cost per lead packages (you only pay .30 cents to $1,50 per valid lead), and cost per action packages (you only pay .50 cents for $70.00 per conversion) There is a minimum buy of $5,000.00. Their advertising network includes Macys, Ameritrade, Beyond Interactive, Verizon, Mediaplex, Dell, CNet, Forbes, Monster.com, Ask Jeeves, Intel, Mtv.com, Discover, Excite, Classmates.com, and more. 877-825-8323

Double Click targets ads by interest groups, editorials, keywords, time of day, day of week, reach/frequencey, geography, language, browser, browser version, industry type, and business type. They have a network of over 1,100 sites that includes sites like A&E, autotrader, baby zone, billboard online, cheap tickets, cars direct, dilbert, essence.com, gameshark, history channel, Lowest Fare, Macromedia, NASDAQ, Network Solution, Travel Web, Ramada, Days Inn, and more. They offer categories like automotive, business, commerce, diversity, entertainment, technology, travel, and women and health. 212-271-2542

Banner Space.com provides content channel targeting in over 35 categories including art and literature, business, computers, education, entertainment, and sports. At the time of this report, the actual cost per 1,000 and specific sites available in the network were not available.

Ad Base.net states that it is an interactive media database where you can search for ad space, browse its directory, add your space, and find tools and resources. It has catgeories in everything from arts and lifestyles to news and media. You can find media of all sorts here, print, radion, tv, and web sites, by geography and by categories.

Net 5000 Market Centers offers 4,000 city sites to advertise at. The rates run around $40 per 1,000 impressions for 4,000 web pages in market areas or national coverage links at a rate of $450.00 per month.

I-Clicks Network offers listings by impression or by click throughs. At the time of print, could not find a list of sites offered at the site. 877-525-4257

Burst Media offers demographic targets, targeting by geography, and over 20 content targets to choose from. Many top companies like AT& T Wireless, Best Buy, Qwest, HP, GM, Sony, Time, and Microsoft have gone through this network for their advertising needs.
